Budlong played a crucial role as the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineer in the transformative collaboration with Page & Turnbull for The Webb Schools’ Hooper Community Center. Tasked with enhancing the 90-year-old gymnasium’s connectivity, Budlong contributed expertise to optimize systems for modern learning needs. The team prioritized sustainability, participating in material reuse initiatives, such as repurposing the original maple gym flooring.
Additionally, Budlong’s engineering solutions facilitated the implementation of the indoor-outdoor concept, integrating bifold and French doors to seamlessly connect spaces and enhance the flexibility of the revitalized community center.
