San Antonio Community Hospital – 5 MW Cogen Plant

Our firm has been providing cogeneration and central utility plant design services to the hospital for the last 50 years. The engines of the installed cogeneration system produce 13,000 lbs/hour steam of waste heat, which is being recycled for use in the hospital. The total capacity of the cogeneration plant is 5MW. Central utility plant includes (3) 800 ton each centrifugal chillers, (2) 1,000 ton each absorption chillers, (4) 500 BHP each steam boilers and approximately 16,000 feet chilled water, hot water steam and power distribution systems throughout the 1,450,000 square feet of various part of this hospital campus.
