Budlong provided full MEP designs for Moorpark Library renovation. The existing space is a rectangular two-story structure consisting of about 40,000 square feet of floor space with two-story open space in the center.
Budlong’s mechanical design consist of reusing as much of the existing HVAC system (chiller, boiler, air handler and pumps) to pick up as much of the load as possible and to supplement this system with package or split system HVAC unit to meet the increased new loads. The college decided to replace the existing electric power and main service installation (500 KVA unit substation) for the reconfigured space.
Emergency power, new lighting and phone, including a complete data center were designed. The plumbing upgrades included new piping and replacement of fixtures.
