Huntington Memorial Hospital – 3.3 MW Cogeneration Plant
Our team conducted a comprehensive study of the existing hospital and a proposed 1,000,000 SF, 7-story patient tower addition. Our scope included analysis and design of all MEP systems within the central plant to support both the existing facility and the new tower. The central plant expansion included three (3) steam absorption chillers totaling 8,000 tons of cooling capacity, two (2) boilers, and a 5.2 MW emergency generator plant. Additional systems designed included electric chillers, cooling towers, emergency generators, switchgear, and the main engineering system monitoring and control room. We also completed a cogeneration feasibility study for a 3.3 MW system to evaluate energy efficiency and sustainability options.
