Rose Hills Memorial Park SkyRose Chapel

Our Engineers provided design engineering for a mausoleum with chapel above. Due to the unique architectural features of this 80-foot wooden structure, the ornamental design of the joints and all wood appearance, the structural engineering was extremely complicated in a high seismic zone. Wood trusses are spaced at 9 feet to support the roof with special connection details due to their large/awkward size. Brace and moment frames resist lateral loads and heavy tube sections resist wind loads. The Chapel also houses a 4-story high specially designed organ loft at the mezzanine.
