Established in 2002, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust (LANLT) addresses park inequities by focusing on communities of color lacking green space access. With nearly two decades of experience, LANLT has developed 29 parks and gardens across LA. The Zela Davis Park Renovation Project aims to revitalize a neglected 0.5-acre park in Hawthorne, originally built in 1972. Due to limited available land and surrounding developments, expanding the park isn’t feasible. However, planned additions such as walking paths, picnic areas, playground equipment, and a community-designed mural will transform the underutilized space into a vibrant community hub.
