This project will address Portland’s remaining Extremely High Risk (EHR) Building Structure/ seismic condition gaps by designing and constructing a complete seismic retrofit to Building 100 (Portland’s main hospital building), Building 101 (Research/Admin), and Building 102 (underground parking garage that supports the roadway in front of Buildings 100 and 101). Once Sky Bridges that connect Portland buildings
will also be seismically upgraded, as necessary.
Nearly 770,000 Departmental Gross Square Feet (DGSF) in Buildings 100 and 101 will be renovated as part of this project, including the correction of several Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) deficiencies. The failing façade of Buildings 100 and 101 will be repaired or replaces as part of this project. The project will include the design and construction of a new 335,000 Building Gross Square Feet (BGSF) Specialty Care Building on the Portland campus, necessary to provide essential swing space during the seismic retrofit and renovation work.
This new structure will house most of Portland’s ambulatory care functions and will free precious space in the main hospital building for acute inpatient functions and ancillary support departments. This project will also construct 600 new parking spaces in a combination of an attached parking garage and surface parking. Solar Phot-Voltaic (PV) and Solar Hot Water Systems are included in this project.
