Our team provided the MEP and structural engineering services to replace the fuel tank at Laguna Hills hospital. The plan was to remove the existing underground tank and replace it with a new 4,000 gallon above ground tank. The generator is existing to remain and is not part of this scope. The tasks provided are listed as follows:
• Site visit to survey loads to document fuel tank sizing info for OSHPD.
• Prepared OSHPD calculations to demonstrate the system meets minimum standards.
• Provided design for pumps, piping and controls
• Provided electrical design – The electrical control panels needed to be reworked to meet the OSHPD earthquake standards.
