Project Details

Budlong updated the IMAX Theater to run smoother, without faults and shutdowns as well as updated HVAC systems to keep both the equipment and the audience at a uniform temperature.

The existing IMAX equipment for the projector was made to operate at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The equipment normally operates at approximately 95 degrees Fahrenheit with an automatic shut-off at +100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Budlong assembled an MEP team to go through the facility and wrote a report documenting the fitness of the existing system for code compliance and general physical conditions of the mechanical systems, electrical, and plumbing systems that directly related to the cooling of the equipment only. The analysis was limited to visual building components and information provided on the MEP as-built drawings and was readily visible.
