Budlong & Associates, Inc. (B&A) is a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm. The firm provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services (MEP) to architectural firms as well as acting as the prime and project manager for various industrial facility projects. Founded in 1958, B&A has served facilities, industrial, and private sector clients in and around the Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara County areas. Over fifty-five years of demonstrated ability and a talent for meeting the needs of the educational, industrial and institutional client have earned B&A an enviable reputation for engineering excellence. B&A is Small Business Certified and has LEED® accredited designers. Projects of every size and description have been completed by B&A in the last five decades. B&A’s voluminous list of projects includes designs for new construction as well as renovation and modifications to existing facilities. B&A engineers understand the unique requirements inherent to the renovation, upgrade, and expansion of existing facilities. In addition, our production capacity, quality control standards and efficiency are greatly enhanced by our extensive use of technologies such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoSprink, EnergyPro and other engineering software.

Sunil Patel has over 30 years of experience as a national and international AEC industry leader and holds professional engineering licenses in 10 different states. He is known for executing prominent landmark projects such as LAX Bradley West expansion, LAPD Headquarters, and many more. Sunil Patel is a proven leader with outstanding technical and entrepreneurial skills, who also brings excellent business insights to the company. Fields of special competence: Sunil Patel has expertise in Project development, Project Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, and Civil – and specialized services including Commissioning, LEED Certification, Energy, and BIM/Integrated Project Delivery services. Shield Anderson | LEED AP

Shield has over 30 years of experience in the field of electrical design engineering. He has experience in cost estimating, providing budget cost estimates based on type of construction and areas in square feet. He has estimated detailed construction costs for United States Navy projects, Corps of Engineers projects, many school projects, industrial projects and commercial projects. At B&A, Shield manages projects including the phases of design, cost estimation, specifications, construction phase support services and project closeout. Fields of special competence: Electrical power distribution and lighting design for industrial, commercial, governmental, and educational facilities including energy conservation (green building and California Energy Commission requirements), data, security and fire alarm systems. Estimating and formulation of proposals for new projects.
